What the hell is this?

In My Youth is a slash comic intended to portray (in a funny manner) the early days of the rock group U2. The general pairing is Bono/Edge, Adam/Larry, although there will sometimes be exceptions to this.

Slash. And that’s what, exactly?

‘Slash’ has become part of internet terminology, and describes a non-canon relationship between a same-gender couple. This comic is slash-focused, meaning that romantic relationships between Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry are what we’re focusing on. This comic is RPS--real person slash. For slash involving fictional characters, the acronym is FPS. For more discussion on this question, you can visit Writer’s University. Most slash on the net takes the form of fanfiction or art. It’s purely for entertainment, non-profit, and intends no harm or disrespect to the people behind the personalities involved.

Where can I find out more about slash?

If you’ve discovered us, and you would like to know more about RPS in general, there are several excellent sites with essays and reflections on the matter. U2 slash. How can I find it on the web?

Almost any general fanfiction site on the internet features slash of some sort. The major U2 slash site is Love is Blindness, with a partner community on livejournal at U2Slash. Anyone can join, and is free to post, read, and enter discussions. There are several other slash-friendly archives--simply searching through google will often bring them up.

Who works on this comic?

At present, In My Youth is a joint creation of writers Magarita and Claire, with cartoons drawn by Mandi. Our original website at 250free.com was designed and maintained by Lissie and Izzy. The new and improved site here at kateness.com is designed and maintained by Kate.

Can I get involved at all?

At present, the comic will run with the staff above, but don’t hesitate to get in touch if you feel you might have something new to offer us.

Why do this?

Essentially--it’s fun. We’re all creative people and we enjoy exploring new outlets.

How often will the comic be appearing?

We’re aiming for a fortnightly schedule to start with, however comics may become more or less frequent as circumstances dictate.

How will I know when there’s a new comic?

Posts will be made on the U2slash journal to inform people of new comics being posted.

Where’s the name from?
