Orion Tumbling
Tonight, Orion is tumbling
down in the sky,
and yet your Christmas lights
dim his, make him harder to see.
Tonight, I'm thinking about you,
and wondering just what
I should be thinking
while these stars are so bright.
Tonight, I can see your breath sparking,
like puffs of a dragon's snout,
pushing out and away,
heat radiating off your body.
Tonight,
Orion tumbling,
catastrophe falling,
and you, standing out in ten degree weather,
whispering dreams and loves
to someone miles and years away,
ignoring the glimmering sky overhead
and the fall of a mighty god-son.
